Tsunami

As minutes turned into hours, there was still no sign of Mikai. He did not show up at the Wai's hut like Amber had warned. Dyami was growing restless, and so was the weather.

Dyami: I thought you said Mikai was coming here?

Amber: I...I don't know where he is.

Toni: Can't you just go and find him?

Hana: It's starting to rain...

Amber: And what if he comes here while I'm gone?

Dyami: He is just one man. We can easily handle him.

Hana: How about I stay here. And you go and find him, Amber?

Amber: You're the one who broke his heart. You find him.

Hana: Yes, I know...it's all my fault...

Amber: Pitying yourself is not going to help anyone.

Toni: Ladies...ladies, let's calm down.

Amber: Oh, you-

Dyami: Shut up, the lot of you. I'll decide what happens.

Amber: What gives you the right?

Dyami: You're in my home, and I am in charge here.

Hana: I'll...I'll go and find him.

Toni: No offence, Hana, but if he tries to do anything to you, you wouldn't stand a chance.

Dyami: Toni is right. You go, Amber. After all, you didn't break his heart or whatever the fuck this is all about.

Amber: Fine, if it means I get a break from this insufferable bunch.

With that, Amber stormed off in search of her brother.

Toni: Women...right?

Hana: ...

Dyami: I will kill you before Mikai does if you do not shut up, Toni.

The rain was growing heavier, and Amber was finding it difficult to wade through the muddy plains and peer past the dense clouds. She called out her brother's name numerous times, but the pounding droplets drowned her voice out. 

Amber absolutely hated rain.

To make matters worse, lightning began to tear up the night sky. Over at the Honua residence, the thunder awoke Sommer. The last time that she heard something so fierce, was the night her aunt died. She wondered how Hana was doing in this weather, as she slept outside on a hammock.

Sommer tip-toed outside, but found the dripping wet hammock empty. It wasn't like Hana to be out this late. However, Sommer was not prepared to look for her, and ran back inside. Her soggy footprints woke up her mother.

Kohana: This damned rain...it's going to ruin the crops.

Sommer: Mother...Hana is gone.

Kohana: Gone?

Sommer: Yes, she's not in her hammock.

Kohana: Maybe she sought shelter in the big hut.

Sommer: That would make sense...

The very same lightning also startled Yuma Uila. He was reading a book at home, when the thunder reminded him of his first and only kill. A smirk appeared on his dimmed face while recollecting that fateful night. Meanwhile, his brothers were sound asleep in their beds, undisturbed by the brewing storm.

Back at the Wai residence, Dyami and Toni were still outside, waiting. Hana had gone inside the hut for shelter, where she found Nami consoling Odin, who was frightened of the weather.

Nami: Odin isn't a storm chaser like me

Hana: Does he...know?

Nami: All he knows is that there is a terrible storm.

Outside, the Wai brothers noticed something coming over the horizon.

Dyami: Do you see that?

Toni: It's a bit hard...

Dyami: I think there's something in the sea, or coming from it

Toni: You know what the waves are like during this type of weather

Dyami: It's a bit bigger than that

Finally, Toni was able to see what his brother saw.

A giant wave heading their way.

Toni: Shit...it's coming right for us

Dyami: Nami...Odin...I need to save them

Toni: Dyami, wait-

As Dyami left his brother, a great curtain of water hit them. Toni's body was pulled into the current, while Dyami slammed open the hut's door, letting in a gush of water before becoming submerged.

Nami: Dyami!

Hana: We need to leave, now!

Nami: I can't...I can't leave Dyami...

Hana: What about Odin!?

Nami: Take him...with you

Hana: Are you serious!?

Nami: Hurry, please!

Immediately, Hana dragged Odin from his soddened bed and fought through the vicious waves while Nami cried out for her husband. Hana held the boy close to her body, protecting his innocent face from the suffocating wrath of the water. While she was unsure if she would make it to the coming morning, Hana was determined to bring Odin to safety at the very least.

By this point, many residents on the island had been abruptly awoken by the storm, which was tearing through the terrain relentlessly. No hut was safe, for they were all built with bamboo and straw. But there was one exception.

The very place where this all started - Pouli Kupua's residence.

Mikai was watching the onslaught from the front door, close to where he had assisted with Pouli's spell, just moments before.

Pouli: It's beautiful, isn't it?

Mikai: What have I done...

Reconciliation

The Honua tribe were known for their close-knit relationships. They always put family first, no matter what. But the death of Kala Honua altered this dynamic greatly. Anxiety, anger, and anguish took over each member of the tribe.

Imposition and Opposition

The infighting between Hana and Sommer was becoming too much to bare for the other Honua members, as well as Hinto. Ever since her beloved aunt's death, Sommer had taken her anger out on her cousin, for she looked like the men who took Kala's life.

At first, the other Honua saw Sommer's rage as her way of dealing with grief. But it was getting out of hand. She couldn't blame Hana forever, especially since Hana was Kala's flesh and blood. When Hinto entered the picture, wanting to make amends with his long-lost sister whilst also falling for Sommer, the Honua decided enough was enough.

Enola tried to reason with her sister many times, but she got nowhere. Perhaps if Hinto could help, Sommer would be more willing to salvage her relationship with Hana. He was all for it, of course, as the women's fighting was putting a strain on both of his relationships with them.

Although Hana had suffered a lot of pain by Sommer, she wanted to fix the relationship. Before everything happened, the pair were on good terms, and Hana missed this. She often expressed her sadness to her brother. After one particular fight got out of hand, Hinto decided he had to give Sommer an ultimatum.

Hinto: Sommer, I can't go on like this anymore...it's unfair.

Sommer: Are you really choosing her, over me?

Hinto: No, but Hana is my sister, and I care about her deeply.

Sommer: ...

Hinto: And it's hard being stuck in the middle of you two. I love you, but this has to stop. It has gone on for too long.

Sommer: You know why, though.

Hinto: How many times do I have to tell you? It's not Hana's fault. Don't you think she grieves for her mother, too?

Sommer: She is the product of that...relationship. And that was the very reason Kala was taken from us.

Hinto: Then how can you look me in the eye? When my own brothers were responsible?

Sommer: Well, you're not like them...

Hinto: Neither is Hana. They very much want her dead, too.

Sommer: ...

Hinto: If you can't get past this soon, I don't know how much longer we can be together...

Sommer: So you are choosing her.

Hinto: I wouldn't have to choose if...if you stopped treating her the way you do. It's horrible...it's tearing your family apart. Kala wouldn't want that.

Sommer: I think you should leave.

Hinto respected her wishes. He departed from the Honua farm, wondering if he had made the right call. He didn't want to lose Sommer, nor did he want to lose contact with Hana.

As she watched Hinto leave, Enola closed her eyes, taking deep breaths. She hoped that whatever he said to Sommer, was enough to make things right, and that optimistically, his words did not mark the end of their relationship.

Afterwards, Sommer laid on the hammock at the back of her family home. She observed the sparse clouds in the sky, leisurely strolling away each other.

She thought about her aunt; how she would feel about all this. 

Would Kala ever have taken her anger out on a family member? Probably not. She wasn't an angry person.

Would she approve of Hinto? Likely. He was a good person.

Would she be happy about Sommer's treatment of Hana? Not at all.

Whilst Sommer laid there, her thoughts drifted like the clouds above. Eventually, her mother approached her, concerned.

Kohana: Are you alright, sunshine?

Sommer: Just...thinking

Kohana: About Kala?

Sommer: Yes.

Kohana: There's a story I'd like to tell you about her.

Kohana: As you already know, when she fell pregnant with Hana, Sato cut contact with her. She felt so alone, and came to me. Of course, I helped her. She was my family.

Sommer: I've heard this before.

Kohana: Yes, but you don't know about how she felt when Hana was born. Kala struggled to bond with her. She was a constant reminder of the guilt she felt, for being with a married man. Kala thought of herself as a homewrecker.

Sommer: Sato never told his wife, though.

Kohana: Of course he didn't. That man was a...well, you know how I feel about him. Anyway, it took Kala a while to come to terms with it all. And when she finally accepted Hana, it was beautiful. I'd never seen her so happy.

Sommer: Really?

Kohana: Yes. She was a wonderful mother. I knew she would be, since she looked after Nara and Enola so well.

Sommer: Does Hana know...about how Kala initially felt?

Kohana: No, I haven't the heart to tell her. I don't think it'd do her any good. That cloud would hang over her permanently, it would overshadow the love she felt from her mother. She already blames herself for what happened to Kala.

Sommer: So do I...

Kohana: Well I hope that, one day, you can find it in your heart to forgive Hana. You two used to be so close...

Half A Secret

It was another day at the community market, and Onida Uila was out shopping because his brother was ill. After purchasing some groceries, Onida decided to have a drink before he headed home. Already sitting at the bar was an inebriated Mikai, mopping incoherently. At first, Onida paid no attention to him, besides from looking at him in disgust. Then, he mentioned Hana's name. Onida repeated it.

Mikai: You know...know Hana? She's...she cheated on me...

Onida: You're in a relationship with her?

Mikai: Yes...but she hasn't spoken to me in ages...I don't know why. I love her...I love her...

Onida: Hmm...perhaps you could share some things?

Mikai: Oh, it all started with that Toni Wai. I hate him! I'm gonna kill him, you know-

Onida: That's not what I was talking about. Tell me what you know about Hana.

Mikai: Well, she's beautiful...the most beautiful woman I've ever seen...I miss her so much, I-

Onida: Maybe this was a mistake.

Mikai: Yes, it was a mistake...that she kissed Toni...

Onida: Pull yourself together. I just wanted to know some details about Hana, such as her day-to-day routine, stuff like that. But nevermind...

Mikai: Oh...she spends most of her time on that farm, fighting her bitch of a cousin...hanging out with her brother...I watch her, you know. Every day. She-

Onida: Her brother?

Mikai: Yes...can't remember his name...actually, he looks a lot like you...

Was this just drunk ramblings, or were one of his brothers actually visiting Hana in secret? Onida had to find answers. He abruptly got up out of his seat, and speedily walked home. As he reached his residence, Onida spotted Yuma playing chess in the garden. Hinto was inside the house, in bed due to his illness.

Onida: Yuma, we need to talk.

Yuma: What is it?

Onida: Have you been seeing Hana?

Yuma: Pardon?

Onida: Some drunk idiot at the market, said he saw either you or Hinto at the Honua farm. Talking to Hana.

Yuma: Do you really think I'd go there, after what I did? I don't have a bloody death wish.

Onida: Then...Hinto...

Yuma: Who was this "drunk idiot", anyway?

Onida: Didn't care to ask for his name, but apparently he's Hana's boyfriend.

Onida threw open the door to the Uila hut, promptly dumping his groceries on the ground and making his way to the sleeping quarters. The sickly Hinto was sound asleep, so Onida sat on his own bed, and waited.

A couple of hours went by, before Hinto woke up to use the toilet. Onida stopped him in his tracks.

Onida: Have you been seeing Hana?

Hinto: What...

Onida: Have you been visiting the Honua tribe?

Hinto: Can I just...pee, please?

Onida: Not until you answer my questions.

Hinto: Who...who told you this?

Onida: Doesn't matter. Is it true?

Hinto: No.

Hinto didn't want his brothers finding out the truth, but he was a terrible liar and he really needed to use the toilet. He had to get this over with, but Onida wouldn't let him.

Onida: Don't lie to me, brother. I don't care if you're sick. Tell me the truth.

Hinto: Alright...I- I just wanted to know, if it was true. If she was our sister...that's it.

Onida: How...how did you manage to get onto the farm, without being killed!?

Hinto: One of the daughters...she snuck me in, without others knowing.

Yuma: Interesting.

Yuma had been listening to the entire conversation. Rather than being angry with his brother, Yuma thought he could use this for their plan.

Yuma: This could be useful. If they're willing to let you in...

Hinto: Can I just use the toilet-

Yuma: Do you think it's possible for us to sneak in with you?

Hinto: What...?

Yuma: Organise another visit with whoever helped you. We can wait...and then you can get us in.

Hinto: Why?

Yuma: So that we can deal with Hana.

Onida: It's the least you could for for betraying us!

Hinto: It- it was just a one-time thing...

Of course, this was not true, but Hinto was scared of what his brothers would do.

Yuma: I'm sure you can do it again.

Hinto: I really don't feel well-

Onida: If you don't do as Yuma says, then I'll make you.

Yuma: After you're better, of course.

Even though Hinto's mind was foggy, he was trying to go through all the people who could have possibly told Onida about his secret visits. Was someone in the Honua tribe secretly feeding them intel?

The Scare

By now, Hinto was fully recovered. He had told his brothers that he was off to organise another visit with Hana, when really he could walk onto the Honua farm without problems. He was worried for their safety.

Hinto arrived at the Honua residence with a sweaty, pasty complexion. They knew he hadn't been feeling well.

Enola: What are you doing here? You're supposed to be resting.

Hinto: I feel better.

Enola: You don't look better.

Hinto: It's...someone told my brothers about me coming here. They know.

Enola: What!?

Hinto: They want...they want to hurt Hana...like they did with-

Enola: There's no way any of us told them...

Hinto: Someone did.

Enola: Wait here.

Enola ran inside, to where her family members were cleaning up after a meal. Hana was cleaning dishes, while the others sat at the table, talking to each other. The startled Enola told them what Hinto told her - that Hana was in danger, and someone had went behind their backs.

Every Honua looked at each other, wondering who could have possibly done this. Some had their suspicions, though, as Kohana and Enola were glaring at Sommer.

Sommer: Why is everyone looking at me?

There was a long moment of silence, until Enola spoke.

Enola: Well...you're the only one here with a problem with Hana...and you and Hinto have not been on good terms...

Sommer: Are you serious!? You think I am a traitor?

Kohana: I wouldn't be angry if you said something, sunshine. Please, be honest.

Sommer: I did not say anything! You know how much I despise Yuma and Onida. I could never look them in the face and speak to them after what they did!

Nara: I believe you, Sommer.

Enola: Then who...who else could have said something? Who else knows about Hinto coming here?

The Honua stayed quiet while they racked their brains for possibilities.

Hana: It could be Mikai...he knows Hinto visits me.

Sommer: That bastard probably said something to get revenge on you...

Enola: Well, we need to do something. You're in danger, Hana.

After the discussion, Hinto was invited in to come up with a plan. He told them more about what his brothers knew - that he had only visited the farm once. The plan was therefore simple; Hinto would just tell his brothers that Enola would not let him see Hana again. He had to perfect this lie, to protect the people he cared about. However, Onida did not take the news lightly. He punished his little brother accordingly...

On the other hand, Sommer and Hana finally had a reason to come together. They had always shared the same enemies, but now it was clear that they had to help each other to help the people they loved, especially Hinto.

It had also become obvious to Hana that she had to cut Mikai off completely. He had endangered her life, even if he didn't mean to.

An Innocent Bystander

Conflicts between the Emera tribes affected every individual on the island - some more than others. One of these were Hinto Uila, the younger brother of Yuma and Onida.

While he cared deeply for his brothers, Hinto often felt as if these feelings were not reciprocated. He was always the odd one out, being the last to find out about anything the other two discussed. When he learned of what they did to Kala Honua, Hinto did not know how to react. He never imagined that his brothers would be capable of ending another's life. Perhaps his naive loyalty to them clouded their true personalities.

Then, he discovered that there was a fourth Uila sibling, mothered by the very same woman Yuma and Onida murdered, something they had known about since their father's death. How could they keep such a secret from Hinto?

He was beginning to lose trust in his only remaining tribe members.

The Betrothal

After the death of Kala, the Uila brothers were determined to get rid of Hana next. But now the much larger Honua tribe were wary of them. They could not achieve this alone, and so they devised a plan.

Yuma: If we want to deal with Hana and the rest of the Honua tribe, we need help.

Onida: From who? The only other tribe nearby is the Ea

Yuma: Exactly.

Onida: Aren't they neutral, though? They'd never get involved

Yuma: Perhaps if we scare them a little, make them feel as if they need protection...

Onida: We'd need something to guarantee our "protection", though

Yuma: They have a daughter

Onida: She's quite young though, certainly not ready to marry yet?

Yuma: Which is why we will betroth her to Hinto.

Consequently, the trio paid a visit to the Ea residence. On the way, Yuma explained to Hinto that he will be marrying Urika Ea, something he was less than enthusiastic about.

Tano and Leia Ea greeted the brothers with welcoming arms, unaware of why they were visiting. While Leia prepared a meal for the group, Tano spoke with Yuma, who told him of the dangers of the Honua tribe.

At first, Tano did not believe Yuma's words. After all, he was on friendly terms with several Honua members. Then, Yuma told him about the affair between his father and Kala, and how the Honua blamed him for her death. Of course, Yuma was the culprit, but he did not need Tano to know that. He just wanted to paint the idea that the Honua were bubbling under the surface, ready to explode.

But what did any of this have to do with the Ea tribe? Not much, but Yuma stated that, if the Honua were to attack the Ea for some reason, he'd be willing to protect them, in exchange for a betrothal. Tano was unsure about all of this, and wanted to learn more about Hinto first if he was to marry his daughter.

Fortunately, Hinto was much less intimidating than his brothers, and his seemingly unwavering loyalty to them assured Tano. This resulted in an agreement between the two tribes. Yuma knew he could always count on Hinto to win over people on his behalf, even if he was unaware of it.

Before the Uila brothers departed, Tano introduced Hinto to his daughter, Urika. She was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, already dreaming about her future wedding. However, Hinto was not really interested.

This is because he already had feelings for another woman...

Withered Petals

Unknown to Yuma and Onida at the time, Hinto had been secretly paying visits to the Honua tribe. It all started when he bumped into Enola and Sommer at the community market. He felt guilty for the death of Kala, and wanted to express his sorrow. Sheepishly, Hinto approached the sisters, not really sure of where to start.

Sommer: Get lost you piece of sh-

Enola: Sommer...

Hinto: I just...wanted to see how you were...you know...

Sommer: Came to rub it in?

Hinto: No I...feel so guilty about what my brothers did, it wasn't right

Sommer: You should feel guilty. If we weren't in a public space right now, I'd hurt you so bad-

Enola: Sommer, enough!

Sommer: How are you not disgusted to see this Uila animal before our eyes!?

Enola: We could at least hear him out...

Sommer: No, I don't want to speak to him. I want him to leave us alone. I don't want to see his face!

Hinto: I will leave you alone...but can I ask you one question, first?

Sommer: Are you serious-

Enola: A question?

Hinto: Yes...is it true...about Hana?

The two sisters exchange glances, before Sommer leans into Hinto's face to whisper.

Sommer: Have you looked at her? Everyday I wake up, and I see her. She looks just like you, and your brothers. She is a constant reminder of that day that I saw my aunt's lifeless body.

Enola places a comforting hand on her sister's back, and the pair begin to walk away.

Hinto: Wait! Is it possible...for me to meet her?

Sommer pushes her sister off her, and continues to exit the conversation with a brisk pace. Enola turns back to Hinto, noticing the desperation in his voice.

Enola: We could...arrange something

Soon, Enola and Hinto came to an agreement. She would ensure a secret visit to see his long-lost sister at the Honua residence, but she would need her sister's help - something that she was reluctant to give. All Sommer needed to do was to distract their brother Nara, while their mother went for an afternoon nap. Eventually, she agreed, as long as she didn't have to see Hinto.

The big day finally came around, and Hinto was nervous to meet his sister. He didn't know where to begin, or what to say to her. Should he apologise for what his brothers did to her mother?

Enola reassured him, as she had already had a conversation with Hana. At first, Hana was hesitant to meet one of her brothers. After all, she had been ostracised by the Uila tribe, and her mother died by their hand. She wasn't sure why it took this long for one of her brothers to come forward, to speak to her. However, this was because Hinto was none-the-wiser to her very existence, until the news of Kala came into circulation and his brothers had to explain everything.

It turned out that the two siblings had much in common. Both felt as if they were more like slaves than actual members of their tribes, each with their own gripes with their kin.

Hinto: Yuma and Onida, they get me to do all of the dirty work. I have to cook, clean, garden...

Hana: Don't get me started! I've always been looked down upon here, especially since my mother's death.

Hinto: I'm sorry...

Hana: It's okay...I mean, some of my family here are nice, like Enola. Sommer on the other hand...

Hinto: She blames you.

Hana: Yes. She was quite close to my mother, you see...

Hinto: It's not your fault.

After a few more visits, Enola told her mother everything. At first, Kohana was furious. But then she realised that Hana seemed to be doing a lot better lately, and it was likely due to her newfound relationship with her brother. Kohana always believed that family was the most important thing in a Sim's life, so she agreed to allow the visits to continue.

Sommer's Dream

After some time, Sommer was the only Honua who contested it, for understandable reasons. One day, Hinto gathered enough confidence to approach her on the Honua farm, to talk to her properly. To begin with, Sommer ignored his presence.

Hinto: I know you blame Hana, for everything

Sommer: ...

Hinto: It's not her fault, you know. Even if she wasn't born...my brothers would have found out eventually about our father's affair with Kala.

Sommer: ...

Hinto: Going around, pointing fingers, it doesn't help. That's what made my brothers do what they did...

Sommer: Are you really trying to defend their actions!?

Hinto: No, not at all. I am just saying, blaming Hana for all this, when she wasn't the one who did any malice, is unfair.

Sommer: I can't- she, she looks just like you lot.

Hinto: Yes, but she is also half of your aunt, who I know you cared a lot about...

Sommer: How...how are you so different...from your brothers? You're not cunning like Yuma, or aggressive like Onida...

Hinto: Well, I was always a mother's boy, and my mother was kind. A bit like Kohana and Enola, I suppose.

Sommer: I guess I am more like my aunt Kala...

Hinto: I heard that she was quite beautiful, and intelligent...it's no wonder my father fell for her, I guess...if only he went about it in a different way...

Sommer: She was amazing. I miss her everyday.

Soon, Hinto's visits to the Honua residence was not just for Hana, but for other members of the tribe, too. He became an ear for Sommer's problems, and it wasn't long before they started falling for each other.

But Hinto's brothers could never find out, as who knows what they would do to him. They were murderers, after all. Fortunately, his secret was safe with the Honua, who became like a second family to him. Their care for each other was something he truly envied.

Novaport: Emera Island Period #1

The Fuse That Sparked Feuds

Her name is Hana Honua.

Her very existence has caused many quarrels between the tribes of Emera Island.

Let's start from the beginning.

Sato and Kala

Sato was the patriarch of the Uila tribe. He was married to a woman named Mila, and they had three sons together: Yuma, Onida, and Hinto. But this was not enough to satisfy Sato, so he looked elsewhere.

Then he saw the beautiful Kala Honua, and thought that he must have her.

Kala humoured him for a while, but soon caught feelings, resulting in an affair. Soon after, she fell pregnant. Sato told her no one could ever find out, and he cut her off.

Luckily, Kala had a loving sister, Kohana, matriarch of the Honua tribe. She helped her through everything.

A couple of decades later, Sato's wife, Mila, became gravely ill. On her deathbed, surrounded by her family, Sato whispered into her ear about his affair with Kala. And so, Mila died with tears in her eyes.

Yuma, being the curious man he is, wanted to know what his father said to his mother. Only when Sato's days were up did he tell his son the truth. Yuma became enraged, and plotted revenge with his brother, Onida - to kill the woman Sato had an affair with.

It was a stormy night, and the Honua tribe were tucked away in their beds. The brothers snuck in quietly, counting each tribe member. But there was an extra one...someone they did not recognise, until they looked at her serene face. She looked exactly like their father.

Onida suggested that they kill her, too, but Yuma did not want to diverge from the plan. And so, they approached the sleeping Kala, eclipsing her face with a cloth soaked with chemicals.

Now that Kala was enjoying a different kind of sleep, the pair dragged her from her bed, to the outside. Her body sloshed through the wet mud, covering her head to toe until she was unrecognisable. As the lightning illuminated the night sky, Yuma struck the sombre woman, bringing an eternal darkness to her mind.

Unfortunately, the thunder woke up Nara Honua, and so the brothers fled the scene. Kala's body was not discovered until the next morning, by her niece, Sommer.

Kohana immediately knew who was behind this. She confronted the Uila brothers alongside Nara and Sommer. Astonishingly, Yuma confessed to everything, with a sly smile on his face.

And so started the feud between the Uila and Honua tribes.

Mikai and Toni

As Hana grew into a beautiful young adult, she could not escape the prying eyes of the single males on her island - Mikai Ahi and Toni Wai.

Mikai was the first to pursue her, for he desperately needed a wife to carry on his legacy. The Ahi were notorious for keeping their distance from the other tribes, and so Hana was flattered.

But Mikai had a short fuse, and his outbursts often scared Hana. After one particular argument, Hana was consoled by Toni Wai, who had been eyeing her up for a while. He took the opportunity to make a move, and Hana being naïve, fell for it. This was a chance to get revenge on Mikai.

It didn't take long for Toni to fall head-over-heals for Hana. She wasn't just pleasing to look at, but she was intelligent and caring, too.

However, Hana began feeling guilty, and so she went to her cousin, Enola, for advice.

Hana: Enola, I think I've done a bad thing...

Enola: Bad? In what way?

Hana: I...kissed Toni

Enola: Toni...

Hana: Yes, I know it's wrong, but Mikai...he upset me and Toni was there for me. And he is much more relaxing to be around.

Enola: Oh Hana...

Hana: What do I do?

Enola: There's something you should know about Toni...

Hana: What?

Enola: A couple of years ago, he fooled me. He pretended to like me, but really he was interested in Sommer and was just using me...

Hana: I'm- what?

Enola: Yes...well, Sommer had none of it. She saw right through him.

Hana: Oh no...what have I done...

Enola: It's okay. There wasn't much going on between us anyway...

Hana: I'm such an idiot

Enola: I think the best thing you can do, is tell Mikai

Hana: But he will not be happy...

Enola: Of course not, but if you really care about him, you should tell him.

Eventually, Hana plucked up the courage to tell Mikai about her affair with Toni. Surprisingly, Mikai did not become angry with her, and instead focused his attention to Toni, adding further fuel to conflict between the Ahi and Wai tribes.

Toni, being a womaniser, sought a new form of revenge on Mikai. His sister, Amber, was also attractive and smart. Completely disregarding Hana, Toni made a move on Amber, but she rejected him.

Out of embarrassment, Toni went running back to Hana, begging for forgiveness.

Toni: Hana, I didn't mean it. I just wanted to get back at Mikai...

Hana: I thought you cared about me, but you were just using me!

Toni: Come on, Hana...think of the times we've had together. You were always on your toes with Mikai, but with me-

Hana: I will still be on my toes, because you betrayed my trust...just like I did with Mikai...

Toni: Yes, well, he deserved it. He treats you awfully

Hana: And so do you.

Now, Hana is keeping her distance from both Mikai and Toni.
