Lunar Legacy #1

Part 1

Sunday, Spring

Ophelia moved into the New Moon Shack in Moonwood Mill. She didn't have a lot of money to decorate it as she wished, but it will do for now.

She picked up the Scavenger and Self-Groom perks, and joined the Writer career. Her daily task was to read a book, so she did just that.

Soon, Kristopher Volkov and Lily Zhu came knocking. They introduced themselves to Ophelia with glum expressions (and fruitcake).

Ophelia: Hello, I've already heard so much about you!

Kristopher: Hello. I am Kristopher Volkov, leader of the Moonwood Collective. This is my friend, Lily Zhu.

Lily: Pleasure to meet you.

Ophelia: Why don't you come on in, out of this terrible weather?

Ophelia invited the two inside and got talking with them. She told them about how the Collective had saved her life as a child, and Kristopher shared his ideals.

Ophelia: Those are some wise words that I can get behind.

Kristopher: Well, I hope you join us in our mission, Ophelia.

Ophelia enjoyed a piece of fruitcake, and then got to know Lily a bit more. They had amazing compatibility.

Lily: The trick to suppressing the beast within you is through breathing exercises. You should try it out next time you feel the fury build up.

Ophelia: Thank you, I will.

Lily: And if you ever need help with that, I am always here.

After the pair left, Ophelia practised her charisma in the mirror until nightfall. She then decided to head out to the Grimtooth Bar and Bunker, where she met Celene Lopez.

Ophelia: You don't smell like a Werewolf...

Celene: That's 'cause I'm not a Werewolf.

Ophelia: Oh?

Celene: I do enjoy their presence though...I just could never do what they do.

Ophelia noticed the sizeable bite scars on Celene's arms.

Ophelia: Were you...attacked by one?

Celene: Oh these? Yeah...I went on a date with a Werewolf and he started a fight with Greg. Didn't end well.

Ophelia: Greggorius Lunvik?

Celene: Yep.

Ophelia: Oh wow...why would your date try to fight him?

Celene: I think he was trying to impress me, but it failed. Nice guy, but the date kinda traumatised me.

Ophelia: That's understandable.

After talking to Celene, Ophelia went to warm herself up by the fire, when Wolfgang Wilder approached her.

Wolfgang: You must be the new wolf in town. My name is Wolfgang, I work at the library.

Ophelia: Oh my, you're a librarian! You'll definitely be seeing a lot of me, then.

Wolfgang: I take it you enjoy literature?

Ophelia: Of course! I just got a job as a Writer, as well.

Wolfgang: Well if you ever need someone to look over your work, I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Wolfgang then left to buy a drink at the bar, so Ophelia soaked in the orange flames of the fire. Then, a grumpy, dishevelled man joined her at the fire, but he didn't say anything. He kept huffing and puffing.

Ophelia: Is something...bothering you?

Chase: It's none of your business.

Ophelia could smell that he was a Werewolf.

Ophelia: Fury is tough, isn't it?

Chase: Fuck off.

While Ophelia was struggling to talk to the man, she could smell the presence of a Vampire. For some reason, Daddy Vladdy had made an appearance. Was he looking to start a fight?

Before Ophelia could feel scared, Vlad disappeared into a cloud of thick, black smoke. As she looked terrified, Ophelia was intercepted by a transformed Werewolf.

Rory: What's with that terrified look?

Ophelia: Oh, um...I thought I could sense a Vampire.

Rory: Those freaks are nothing to be scared of. I'd deal with them immediately.

Ophelia: Thanks?

Rory: Who the fuck are you anyway? I haven't seen you before.

Ophelia: I'm Ophelia...I just moved here.

It was getting pretty late, and Ophelia had work in the morning, so she decided to call it a night. She headed home to get some sleep before her first day as a Writer.

Monday, Spring

Ophelia was excited to start her new job. She wasn't very pleased about her uniform (especially because she couldn't wear her glasses), but she tried not to think about that.

During work, Ophelia got a text from an unknown number, asking if they could crash at her place. Being the Good sim that she is, Ophelia accepted without thinking. So, Paolo Rocca turned up to her house with a bright pink suitcase.

After work, Ophelia met Paolo in her living room. He was sat watching TV while sipping on an energy drink. Not long after she sat down, she received a text from Kristopher, asking to hang out.

Ophelia: So, um, Paolo...I'm going to go to the Humour & Hijinks festival, want to come?

Paolo: Hell yeah...get me away from this depressing place. Er...no offence!

And so they caught a train to San Myshuno with Kristopher. Ophelia was not a city girl, so she was amazed by the place. The bustling atmosphere made her a bit nervous, which affected her fury levels. She could feel the wolf losing control inside her.

Ophelia poured herself a warm drink from one of the fountains, which made her feel giddy. Then, she joined Kristopher at a table.

Ophelia: You look kind of sad...maybe you should drink some of this tea, it'll cheer you right up!

Kristopher: No thank you, I don't dabble in things that could affect my inner wolf...

Could he tell that Ophelia's fury was growing?

Kristopher: Just be careful. You don't want to unleash it here. This city isn't used to Werewolves.

Ophelia: Right...I think I'm fine at the moment. We don't have to stay here too long.

Before she headed home, Ophelia wanted to try some of the cuisine at the food stalls. She tried pho for the first time, and it was a bit too spicy.

It was delicious, but the uncomfortable tingling in her mouth was not doing her fury any favours. Ophelia left before she got out of control.

When she arrived home, she let some of her anger out by howling. Ophelia made sure that Paolo was not around to see her.

Tuesday, Spring (Love Day)

Ophelia had a day off work, she she decided to explore Moonwood a little. She came across two Werewolves fighting, which startled her.

It was terrifying to see them scrapping with each other, as they could get hurt. Ophelia recognised one of them as the woman who spoke to her at the bar. Once the Werewolves saw Ophelia observing, they ended their brawl. The unknown Werewolf approached her.

Lou: You're the new girl in town...Ophelia, right?

Ophelia: Yes...

Lou: Wow, Rory never mentioned how pretty you are. Anyway, I'm Lou, nice to meet you.

Ophelia: Oh, um, hello. Why were the two of you fighting...?

Lou: It was just a friendly brawl, we do it a lot. It's good training.

Ophelia: Training...for what?

Lou: To become strong, of course. It's important for us Werewolves!

Ophelia: I think there's more to being a Werewolf than that...

Rory could overhear the two talking, and she did not like what Ophelia was saying.

Lou: Right, but isn't it cool how strong Werewolves are?

Ophelia: I...I am not too keen on that aspect. It draws a lot of attention...

Lou: Well, you shouldn't care what others think. It's important to be yourself and all. Rory can teach you about that...so can I.

Rory: You sound just like my father, Ophelia.

Rory had joined the conversation. Ophelia's words were reminiscent of what Kristopher believed.

Ophelia: Is that...a good thing?

Rory: Absolutely not, he's a control freak.

Ophelia: Oh...I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be controlling, or-

Rory: He tried to make me suppress my inner wolf, and it fucked me up. There's nothing good about hiding your true self away like that.

Ophelia: I think if I didn't hide my wolf, it would have grave consequences. I wouldn't have gotten far in life otherwise...

Rory: That's just what the Collective want you to believe. It's all lies.

Ophelia: I just...don't want to hurt others...

Rory: You're just hurting yourself instead.

Lou decided to finally pipe up.

Ophelia: I'm glad the Wildfangs were able to help you, Lou. But the Moonwood Collective have helped me since I was a pup. They raised me.

Rory: They raised me, too, and look what happened.

Lou: Hey, there's nothing wrong with having a different belief. We're all Werewolves at the end of the day.

Even though Lou was a part of the rival Wildfangs, he didn't seem to all that bad. Ophelia liked his optimistic attitude.

It was time for Ophelia to check in with Kristopher and the Collective. She wanted to become a fully fledged member, although she could feel her fury getting stronger. Kristopher welcomed her with open arms.

To become a full member, Ophelia had to prove her worth through trials. She showcased her scavenger abilities.

Luckily, she found a rare figurine, which she immediately gifted to Kristopher.

For her last trial, Ophelia wanted to cook or bake something. She headed home to get started. First, she made an easy baked good - brownies.

But they weren't the best, and so Ophelia tried again. This time, she made some milk bread.

Again, it didn't turn out very well. Baking was harder than she thought. Ophelia made another attempt by making cupcakes.

Still, they weren't great. She had spent all night baking various things, but it wasn't turning out right. Ophelia thought she would never be able to join the Collective if she couldn't even master simple baking recipes. She decided to call it a night and headed to bed.

Wednesday, Spring

Ophelia woke up feeling quite sad. Her self-esteem was low due to her baking failures and the pressure of joining the Collective. Then she realised she had missed Love Day, a holiday she greatly enjoyed. It wasn't like she had anyone special to celebrate it with, anyway.

But there was no use in moping about it. While Ophelia ate her breakfast, she thought that if baking wasn't her strong suit, perhaps she could try cooking a savoury dish. However, what would she cook?

It would be quite sentimental to prepare a dish she shared in the company of Kristopher. So, Ophelia looked online for a pho recipe, and got cracking.

It was the perfect dish because it contained a good deal of meat, something Werewolves loved. Low and behold, Ophelia's Pho was excellent. She was very pleased with herself.

Ophelia immediately wrapped up her baked goods and pho, and headed to the Collective tree. She was then accepted as a full member. Then, she headed off to work and came home with a promotion. Unfortunately, Ophelia couldn't be too excited about it, as she was nervous for the coming full moon.

She also came back to a pig sty, as Paolo hadn't been cleaning up. He spent most of his time watching TV and dancing to no music?

Ophelia asked Paolo to help around the house a little, and she went to the library to work on her Writing skill.

That is all for now! In the next part, Ophelia will be experiencing her first Full Moon, and we're going to try searching for her Fate Mate.

Revival of Luna & Lillia

I started posting about Luna and Lillia on Twitter, back at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023. I didn't have a real direction for them, and just posted as I played. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I abandoned my Twitter for a long time. I missed the two a lot, and never had a chance to give them a proper story.

But I am going to fix that. I will be bringing the pair back, but with a new story and an additional member of the household. I will be writing about them in great depth here, too, as Twitter has too much of a character limit.

It will be a bit of time before I start posting about them, as I want to focus on the Lunar Legacy first. I have a habit of starting things then never finishing them, but I want to change that. In the meantime, I'll give you a little introduction to the women.

Luna Andromeda

Traits: Loner, Loves Outdoors, Gloomy
Aspiration: Spellcraft & Sorcery

Wants to continue her mother's research on the Mooncasters.

Lillia Flowers

Traits: Good, Cheerful, Neat
Aspiration: Purveyor of Potions

Wants to live up to her father's name and make him proud.

Lavinia Thorne

Traits: Bookworm, Self-Assured, Jealous
Aspiration: Successful Lineage

Wants to find a real family, as hers is dysfunctional.

I have lots of plans for their stories, which I want to flesh out before I begin playing & posting.

Lunar Legacy - Introduction

It's time I get back into legacy playthroughs, so I'm starting off small with the Lunar Legacy Challenge by @pamsimmer on Twitter. This features four generations focused on the different Werewolf aspirations.

Generation 1: Waxing Crescent

Graphic by @lilithsimmer on Twitter

Meet Ophelia Birch!

Traits: Snob, Bookworm, Good
Aspiration: Emissary of the Collective
Career: Writer

She was abandoned as a child and was taken in by the Moonwood Collective. They raised Ophelia, and she is very grateful towards them. She wants to contribute to the group by being a good Werewolf. Ophelia hopes to start her own family one day, to do her best in being there for her future children, so that they never feel the pain that she experienced.

I purchased The Sim Planner by Yellow Llama Co. which also arrived today, so I am going to be using that to keep track of this little legacy! I'm excited to get started.

Awful Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4

Most legacy challenges are quite wholesome. I thought I'd add an extra element of challenge by creating 8 generations of awful traits, with aspirations and jobs that absolutely do not fit. So here it is, the Awful Legacy Challenge!

Note: This uses a combination of several DLCs.

Generation 1: Outdoor Unenthusiast

You absolutely hate creepy crawlies but want to explore the great outdoors. Perhaps spending time in the garden, among nature, will build up your tolerance. Your materialistic ways might also get in the way of this dream, as you do not enjoy simple living. The only thing that keeps you sane is neighbourhood gossip.

  • Move into an apartment with Mouldy, Filthy, or Creepy Crawlies trait. Remove all household funds afterwards!
  • You cannot hire a maid or butler
  • Marry a sim with the Slob trait & have at least 1 child
  • Complete the Insects collection
  • Host a Gold Weenie Roast
  • Break into at least 3 apartments
  • Max out the Gardening, Herbalism, and Fishing skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Gardening career
  • Achieve the Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration

Generation 2: Big Unhappy Family

Children are the bane of your existence, but you feel immense pressure to continue your family line. You struggle with your emotions and hate cleaning up after yourself, making you less than ideal for parenthood. You put on the front of a family-first person, pouring all your time and effort into your little ones, but you are bound to finally break one day.

  • You can only work part-time as a Babysitter
  • You cannot hire a nanny or send children to daycare
  • Marry a sim with the Evil or Erratic trait
  • Have 3+ children & complete all milestones for at least 1 Infant. Have 1 child earn 3+ negative character values
  • Host a Gold Baby Shower, Birthday Party, and Toddler Playdate for every child.
  • Complete a Treehouse
  • Max out the Parenting, Cooking, and Baking skills
  • Achieve the Big Happy Family aspiration

Generation 3: Enemy of the World

Your upbringing was quite difficult, which has set you down a dark and unpredictable path. You try to cover up your evil ways by acting as a good force in the community. You’re unlikeable, so you will have to work twice as hard to maintain a perfect image. Luckily, no one needs to know what goes on behind closed doors.

  • WooHoo with a fellow politician
  • Marry a Family-Oriented sim & have at least 2 children
  • Cheat on your spouse with a maid, butler, or nanny
  • Have 1 best friend and 3 or more close friends
  • Volunteer with your family at least 3 times
  • Obtain a Pristine reputation
  • Max out the Charisma, Logic, and Mischief skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Politician career
  • Achieve the Friend of the World aspiration

Generation 4: Serial Unromantic

You’re terrible with people, but you long for a romantic relationship. You go against your unflirty nature to find that special someone…however, you change your mind easily due to your own insecurities. Your awful understanding of social boundaries make it very easy for you to take relationships too far.

  • Date at least 8 different sims. Cheat on at least 1 of these sims
  • Go on at least 3 Gold Dates
  • Have at least 1 child, but never marry
  • WooHoo with a sim at the Romance Festival

  • Become a 2* or more Celebrity
  • Max out the Charisma, Comedy, and Singing skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Entertainer career
  • Achieve the Serial Romantic aspiration

Generation 5: Bodyslacker

You want a body that you’re proud of. Unfortunately, you have plenty of bad lifestyle habits and were never any good at sports, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try. Maybe if you surround yourself with athletic Sims, it will inspire you to finally get off that sofa. Then, you can indulge in as much food as you like.

  • As a Teen, join either the Manual Labourer or Lifeguard career
  • Marry an Athletic sim & have at least 1 child
  • Host a Gold Mountain Climb Excursion

  • Get food poisoning from eating at a restaurant
  • Max out the Fitness, Rock Climbing, and Wellness skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Athletic career
  • Achieve the Bodybuilder aspiration

Generation 6: Fabulously Poor

Everyone dreams of getting rich, but it takes a lot of hard work to get there. You feel unreasonably icky about flaunting your simoleons, and you’d much prefer to take things than work for it. But even you know you need a job to make a living, even if you burnout more easily than most. Those simoleons won’t earn themselves!

  • Move into a cheap apartment as a Young Adult, and buy a house as an Adult
  • Marry a Snob or Materialistic sim & have at least 1 child
  • Own a Super XL Smart Vault containing at least §10,000

  • Start a side hustle selling stuff you steal/find
  • Max out the Mischief & Painting skills, plus one more of your choice
  • Reach Level 10 in the Business career
  • Achieve the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration

Generation 7: Party Pooper

You got used to the high life your parent lived…sort of. You struggle to trust others and hurt those around you, but you still want to throw amazing parties. There’s nothing wrong with celebrating good times with superficial friends. Perhaps you could host a gathering in a basement, to make yourself feel safer?

  • Marry an Outgoing or Bro sim & have at least 1 child, then divorce them
  • Marry a second sim with the Gloomy trait
  • Host 3 Gold House Parties, 2 Gold Birthday Parties, 1 Gold Wedding Ceremony, and1 Gold Dance Party
  • Attend at least 1 DJ Party & WooHoo with an attending sim
  • Join or make a Club containing 8 members
  • Max out the Charisma, Mischief, and Mixology skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Social Media career
  • Achieve the Party Animal aspiration

Generation 8: Soulhate

Settling down is the main goal for most Sims, but you loathe that idea deep down. You met a special someone in high school, but do you really want to stay with them forever? On the other hand, you relish their undivided attention towards you, especially when you feel down most days. There’s always work to distract you at least, but that’s another can of worms…

  • Get engaged to any sim that you went to high school with
  • Host a Gold Engagement Dinner, Wedding Ceremony, Reception, and Vowel Renewal
  • Always have successful Love Days, but celebrate them all with sims other than your spouse
  • Collect all Messages in Bottles
  • Max out the Logic, Writing, and Programming skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Salaryperson career
  • Achieve the Soulmate aspiration

Happy simming!

World Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4

I was thinking it would be a cool legacy to challenge to explore every world, then I found out that this challenge was already made by MiraculousGemsCC. Still, I wanted to visualise it and there were a few things I wanted to change/add. So, here it is.

Includes all Worlds up to For Rent (except Batuu)

General Rules

No cheating
Do not move worlds until you complete the generation
If you're missing a pack - skip the generation
Play with Normal lifespan

World Legacy Challenge

Let me know if you'd like me to add another generation for Batuu!

Goth CAS Challenge

I already posted this on Twitter, but I came up with a goth CAS challenge thanks to the new Goth Galore kit!

This may have already been done before, but as a goth girly I really wanted to make my own.

Have fun!

Peasant to Royalty Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4

The Castle Estate kit inspired me to make a legacy challenge for The Sims 4 (also helps that I LOVE medieval history). There are 10 generations, each representing a "class" within medieval society.

Also some of the icons are low quality as I couldn't find better ones.

I hope the colours aren't too obnoxious and the cards are easy enough to read!

Gen 1: Peasant

You’re a nobody, starting out at the bottom of the hierarchy. Therefore, you work hard, utilising your skills to scrape by. Focusing all your efforts on agricultural work, you live a simple yet fulfilling life. You just want the best for your children, and can only hope that one day, they will have it easier.

  • After moving in/building a home, remove all household funds. House must also be Off-the-Grid for this generation
  • You cannot work - you must make all your money from gardening, crafting, farming, and fishing
  • Get married & have at least 3 children
  • Complete the Freelance Botanist aspiration
  • Achieve Level 10 in the Gardening & Handiness skills
  • Cottage Living: own at least 1 cow, 1 llama, and 2 chickens
  • Horse Ranch: own at least 1 horse, 1 goat, and 1 sheep

Gen 2: Knight

Your humble yet demanding upbringing has made you physically strong, which makes you popular and attractive. This prowess also helps you in your work life. You’ve worked on your etiquette so that you can woo anyone, no matter their social status. Ultimately, you want to win the heart of someone special, and live a happy life with them.

  • Date at least 5 sims before getting married
  • Marry a sim with the Snob trait
  • Host a Gold Wedding Ceremony
  • Have at least 1 child
  • Complete the Soulmate aspiration
  • Achieve Level 10 in the Charisma & Fitness skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Military Career
  • Horse Ranch: own at least 1 horse and win the Ultimate Horse competition

Gen 3: Lord/Lady

Although you had a comfortable upbringing, you want more. You covet the things that you do not have and hate when the attention is taken away from you. Fortunately, your knack for music helps you stand out amongst the crowd, but it isn’t enough to earn you the money you desire. You look for anything that can help you receive the wealth you desire.

  • Write a song on the Piano & Violin
  • “Kill” a maid or butler for doing a bad job
  • Marry a wealthy sim, and have them die
  • Marry a second sim with the Creative trait
  • Have at least 1 child
  • Complete the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration
  • Achieve Level 10 in the Logic, Piano, and Violin skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Law career
  • Accept every bribe you are offered during your career

Gen 4: Baron/Baroness

Your parents’ wealth has made you greedy. You only want the best of the best, and everyone must know it. You enjoy spending copious amounts of money, whether it be on furniture or parties. You initially do not wish to share your belongings with another but start to feel lonely in your big mansion. After all, you need someone to leave your fortune to.

  • As an Adult, marry a YA sim with the High Maintenance trait
  • Have at least 2 children
  • Own a Super XL Smart Vault containing at least §20,000

  • Achieve Level 10 in the Charisma & Logic skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Business career
  • For Rent: own a rental property in addition to your main home

Gen 5: Viscount/Viscountess

All the parties that plagued your home during your childhood has made you a bit of a shut-in, and your parent’s go-getter attitude was a lot of pressure on your shoulders. You want to be most talented sim in the world, perfecting as many skills as possible. You have little room for socialisation, but still need to continue your family line.

  • Marry a sim with the Genius trait
  • Have at least 1 child
  • Complete 5 masterpiece paintings
  • Write 1 best-selling novel
  • Write at least 1 song
  • Complete the Renaissance Sim aspiration
  • Achieve Level 10 in the Writing, Painting, and 1 of any instrument skills

Gen 6: Count/Countess

Your parent’s lack of attention has made you long for a family of close relationships, but you also want to live up to their high standards. Perhaps then, they will notice you. You do not wish to put this pressure on your children and want them have a joyful upbringing filled with good memories. Your care for your children and great skillset help you in your job.

  • Reach Level 10 in the Education career
  • FR: host a Gold Family Reunion

Gen 7: Marquis/Marquise

Your large family has made you an outgoing person, but the divided attention between your siblings caused you to act out by stealing. Why work towards owning something, when you can just take it? You would much prefer to spend your time partying and making friends. You’ve found that art makes a good talking point.

  • Marry a sim with the Paranoid or Erratic traits
  • Have at least 1 child, 1 best friend, and 3 close friends
  • Steal objects worth §1k or more from each friend
  • Achieve Gold in the House Party and Birthday Party social events
  • Complete the Friend of the World aspiration
  • Achieve Level 10 in the Charisma, Painting, and Mischief skills
  • Reach Level 10 in the Critic career

Gen 8: Duke/Duchess

You want power and success, and do not care who you hurt to get it. You’re smart and cunning but enjoy food a little too much. But that doesn’t matter, because as long as you can stay rich, you can eat what you like. You see family as a necessity, to cement your mark on the world, and therefore put a lot of pressure onto your children.

  • Marry a sim with the Family-oriented trait

You’ve become quite comfortable being surrounded by generations of wealth. You spend all your time reading and writing, without having to worry about where your next meal will come from. You wear the latest fashion and take life slowly, hoping to become a great author one day. You care little about your parent’s expectations of you.

Your family is successful, and that makes you special. You believe that everyone should worship you. You treat the people in your life like peasants; pawns that can be used to your advantage. You want the world to remember your name, and your name only. You enjoy a lavish lifestyle and refuse to settle for mediocracy.

  • Marry any sim & cheat on them with a fan of yours
  • Woohoo your maid, butler, or nanny
